A project by PANGEA
When does a place become home? Where do we discover this place and how are we able to change it? Is home always something physical or rather a feeling? How can the term be defined? How does this relate to our subjective perception and how do geopolitical circumstances and interpersonal encounters influence our understanding of it?
As part of the project Position Determination – Rethinking Cartography, we explored the concept of home and our own position in life over the course of several events, without forgetting the cultural and artistic approach of PANGEA. The programme was divided into an analogue section, a theoretical input and a digital-hybrid part. We were interested in the topic not only within physical boundaries, so to speak, but also within the digital world.
The project Position Determination – Rethinking Cartography was funded by the City of Linz’s Department of Culture as part of the special funding programme LINZimPULS 2023.
More detailed information on the events and further impressions can be found on the PANGEA website.
